zombies

This series began as the result of a conversation I had with a friend about how we are all becoming zombies by walking around continually on our phones and electronic devices, and have stopped interacting with each other. This idea transformed into a rather playful photoshoot when it transitioned into a full  zombie apocalyptic scene, especially with all the inspiration available through zombie shows and movies on the rise. As I progressed through the series, more and more people wanted to be a part of it and it slowly expanded, then snowballed.

All the backdrops are from European cities, mainly within France, England, and Wales. The clothes were all made by hand using spray paint, boot polish, electric sander, coffee, and splattering them with various other things. Makeup was done by my dear friend John Palka, using prosthetic, latex, toilet paper, and different mediums giving it the layered skin look. Subjects were photographed in the studio, and photoshopped into the scene I put together for each.  It was all a blast to do.
